Final Questions, Comments, and Helping each other!

Hi all,

Great idea is to communicate with each other (you can thank Carolyn for getting the ball rolling)! Ask each other questions, and help each other here on the blog.

This post has been set up to do just that. I suggest that you try to get through all the questions first and then when you're done post several questions at a time or it will get confusing.

Remember: answers can be found, in your notes (if you took them), Google search (if you ask the right question), the blog (if you know where to look), your friends (if they were paying attention), and me—after you've exhausted those other avenues.

The Final is coming! The Final is coming!

The Rollercoaster is approching the apex...(LOOK IT UP!)

The Final is Tuesday and Wednesday of next week depending when you have class!

Handout Final Review Packets—they will be due prior to the final exam next week!

No organizational plan or blueprint: no start!

Music must be imported into iTunes—Quick Demo

Photos and movie clips must be imported into iPhoto—Quick Demo

Remember that watching and rewatching your clips over and over isn't a good use of your time—scrub instead!

Now, what you've all been waiting for....

iMovie!!!

iLife, which is Apple's version of a creative suite—a group of applications bundled together, share a common interface, and work well together in a creative environment.

The applications we will be focussing on in iLife are:

• iTunes
• iPhoto
• iMovie (09)
• iDVD

1. Blueprint/storyboard—of your movie
2. Music—MP3
3. Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!!!
4. Movie clips (which aren't required for this project and only should be used by students that know how to make movie clips and can get them off their device***) need to be: quicktime video, .MOV, mp4

2. Collect Book Publisher project
3. Demo of a simple movie
4. You will create your own movie—TODAY!!!

Coming to a close...

As the end of the school year is rapidly coming to a close we still have a bit of work to do!

 

This project will be over today—meaning that we won't be doing any more in class after today, but you can hand it in at the beginning of next week.

Next up is iMovie and we will start this on Monday.

You need to start thinking about this iMovie project:

• Group project
• One song length—means you need to pick a song for your sound track.
• The idea is to make either a commercial, movie trailer, or some movie short that will be around 2-4 minutes in length.
• iMovie takes a long time to do things so it will require work outside of class as well.
• Monday/Tuesday homework is to have your teams picked, with an idea, positions with weakenesses and strengths typed out like we've done for the previous two projects...
• We will not be video taping rather using pictures to create the base of the movie—you can include small video clips—not all file formats work and we will discuss that next week—jpgs and mpegs do!

Today we will be working on the book publishing project.

 

Homework for monday/Tuesday:

1. Your group book project completed (we can only print in B&W in class) and individual pieces brought to class.
2. Monday/Tuesday homework is to have your teams picked, with an idea, positions with weakenesses and strengths typed out like we've done for the previous two projects...
