Yankees Team Report May 30, 2009

A quartet of holdovers from the dynastic Yankees helped return the franchise to its familiar perch atop the AL East on Friday.

Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada had two hits apiece, and Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera combined on the win and the save for the record-setting 58th time as the Yankees edged the Indians 3-1 in the opener of a four-game series in Cleveland. The win, coupled with the Red Sox' 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays, put the Yankees in first place by a half-game, the first time they have held sole possession of the AL East lead since the final day of the 2006 season.

Dearest Class of 2009 (Junior High)

I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for a very successful Junior High career. I also want to wish you luck and send positive thoughts going forward in your life.

I know I was your teacher, but you also taught me many things over the years and for that I want to thank you!

I set high standards and expectations for my classes and I want to commend you all for trying your hardest to meet and exceed them. (I know it was difficult... But I respect and appreciate the effort.)

I know you all learned something, but I also hope you had some fun along the way...

iMovie Project

Today you will receive a folder DUE back on THURSDAY in class.
Label:

• Class Group
• Name of Group Members
• Title of iMovie

The folder should contain in this order:

• Blueprint
• Detailed idea (that would include a detailed story idea and song
• Individual (each person in the group has to do one) project/group critique
• DVD (Dvd can be submitted at the end of the day on Thursday if you needed more time)

You will also receive a DVD to burn the iMovie on to hand in—I will assist you with this process. This is due by the end of school on Thursday.

iMovie will be graded on the requirements already presented (total 75 points):

• Title (5 points)
• Credits (5 points)
• Blueprint (5 points)
• Detailed idea (5 points)
• Following directions (naming, order, general directions, etc.) (5 points)
• Song (10 points)
• Images (10 points)
• Ken Burns effect (10 points)
• Creativity (10 points)
• Project critique (10 points)

Da Daa Daaaaaaa!

iMovie group project begins!

I will be checking for your:

• detailed Blueprint
• Music
• Images

Order of production:

1. Load images into iPhoto and music into iTunes. (do not just drag images and music into iMovie!!!)
2. Next put images into your timeline WITHOUT Ken Burns effect. (Follow your blueprint: just simply layout your images without any editing in the timeline—this will help you see what needs to be done.)
3. Add music, listen once, but then uncheck the audio track so it doesn't distract you and everyone else. Editing music will be last!
4. Go back and work on individual movie clips—adding Ken Burns effect.
5. Cut, rearrange, EDIT your clips to make a smooth video.
6. Adjust/edit music.

You will be graded on meeting requirements: is everything included in the project folder, the quality of material in project folder, having a coherent 2-5 minute movie with a soundtrack, titles/credits, transitions, following instructions, meeting deadlines, individual project critique.

Successful completion of this project will help you learn and have a better understanding of: Applications—iTunes, iPhoto, iMovieHD, iDVD; working in groups and group dynamics; creativity; making fun projects with technology that can be used in any class in the future; organization, meeting deadlines, editing skills, PATIENCE, and so much more!

• Friday you need to hand in your group PowerPoint Folder that will include: Blueprint, outline, and self critiques by each team member. (self critique is the only part that needs to be done—everything else you should already have done.
• Focused defined, detailed idea of your iMovie project (1 page)
• Start working on your Blueprint
